As we partner with distillers across Scotland, we’re in high spirits after sponsoring the country’s first-ever Football Legends Golf Series, a charity golf tournament held in aid of Glasgow’s Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.
The event took place on Friday 3rd September amongst beautiful scenery at the world-famous Carrick Gold Course, at Cameron House on the banks of Loch Lomond, with Scottish footballing legends playing a stone’s throw away from some of the company’s esteemed partner distilleries.
With special player appearances from former Scottish Premiership players, the tournament took full advantage of the stunning 18-hole course running along the Loch’s bank at the Carrick Golf Club.
Attendee highlights included 415+ capped legendary Rangers player, manager and now pundit, Ally McCoist; Celtic legend, Jackie McNamara; 150+ capped Celtics legend, John Hartson; Rangers-voted best keeper, Andy Gormam; Liverpool and Rangers star, Charlie Adam; and bona fide star, Ian Durrant.
After a full day on the course, players and guests were invited to take part in a special chip shot challenge, before heading to the charity auction and evening dinner.
In total, the tournament and auction raised a total of £3,844 for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice which provides free, palliative care and support to the people of Glasgow.
Alistair Moncrieff, Managing Partner at Whisky Partners, said “We are delighted to have sponsored such a highly-anticipated and successful event. As stockists of world-renowned Scotch cask whisky, it was great to have players enjoying a drink with us after the game at our specially made pop-up bar, before awarding the winner of the chip shot challenge with a rare bottle of whisky”.
“We’re grateful to have the opportunity to help raise money for a great cause and having famous faces there really helped to mark the occasion.”
